Not good. And not fun. Hopefully all goes nicely. And by penicillin, I hope you're using the Swedish "all antibiotics are called penicillin" version, since penicillin itself is probably not the first-line treatment of choice...

It depends on the situation and symptoms, but doxycycline is pretty common (for people over age 8). I even used to carry a small supply of it for post-exposure prophylaxis, just in case... Amoxicillin and cefuroxime are also common choices for the classic rash presentation. And IV antibiotics like ceftriaxone are used for more severe manifestations. At least, those choices apply in North America.

In Sweden, the situation is slightly different, and they may have different choices over there.
