In Wednesday Swiss orienteering published news about new Swiss Olympic funding model. They said it is more transparent and simplified.

They also published for the first time a list of grants received by each member association. It is interesting to see how important is Orienteering in Swiss compare to other sports.

It would be interesting if someone from SUI can explain more about their funding rules, criteria, points, etc which allows SwissO to get such a big grant from their Olympic committee.

It's a wide mix between results, international importance of the sport, public recognition (in Switzerland), number of members in the federation, youth work and quality of the work of the federation.
We place in the second of five divisions. It's almost impossible to be in the first without being an olympic sport. This olympic requirement is new and as far as I know there is a special arrangement for the current period because we would (and maybe will in the future) get less money being in the second division.
