I estimate it was blowing about 40 when I was up top, which was probably a little later because the rain had passed. I agree that it was as hard coming back down as it was going up in those conditions. But the wind died down overnight and it was calm and beautiful when I went back up in the morning.
Yes, the sand had all dried-up but walking into it took work. Too bad we missed you. You migh have been one of the people we saw going up while we were headed down. I imagine that that wind was too much to try hang gliding in.
