If I'm reading the BC Transit route 8 schedule correctly then you can't actually take the bus to the relay tomorrow because the first run isn't until 11 AM. Is that correct?

Run leg 3?

Yes, I think you're right. You can use it for the return trip of course.

Don't forget your swim suit

You can also take route 5 to get to Lost Lake, according to the schedule the bus will divert to there if you ask the driver. But the first bus on that line is 10.05 which still isn't early enough if you're running first leg.

Used to be in Whistler that they didn't really need busses. The potential passenger just stood on the side of the road and stuck out a thumb.
Post where you will be standing and I'm sure some APer will come by and pick you up.

Good idea, but there is no parking at Lost Lake (except for organizers who are going up too early)

The alternatives to the 1.5 km walk through Lost Lake park would be hire a bike or take a taxi (which would cost only a few bucks). But the shuttle is / would be free, so is basically the same as sticking out a thumb

Or convince someone with a car to drive up the dead end road to drop you off and then drive back to the parking lots and walk themselves. Maybe an enterprising ap'er could set up a little taxi shuttle business ;)

Yeah, that's our backup plan. I'm going to drop the family off, then go back and park in Lot 5 and jog up the trail without having to carry my stuff. Should be fine as long as we get out the door on time...
