We are trying to get some photos posted from the race site, however, we have arrived to find incredibly dense fog. You could be literally next to a herd of cattle not more than 7-8' feet away and not be able to see them. Let's hope the fog lifts in time, because you can tell from the astonished looks of racers huddled in their cars that this is *not* what they were expecting! Silly runners, thinking that racing in the Laramie Range would just be the usual thing.

The fog seems to have burned off.

Maybe you can arrange for a group webcam photo here on Happy Jack Road (bottom photo) sometime during the event.

With some hard work, and an extra vetting streamer(?) to distract the competition, I managed to avoid a 2nd scalping. But that wasn't nearly enough for 1st, which was claimed but a relatively new father, who missed his start, and stopped to stake a claim.

It's not often we get a runner with 3 WOC medals under his/her belt at little Laramie Daze, but we did today: it's Marc Lauenstein about to punch at the last control, leading the field!

Winners at Devil's Claw were Marc Lauenstein and Ali Crocker. But the person happiest about the prizes appears to be the young, blossoming orienteer Matti Lauenstein (in his papa's arms)!

Results, Daze 2: 7.1 km, much climb (short course at 4.5 km and not as much climb), blue skies, very pleasant temps with light breeze, no cattle.

There were several cryptic notes on the Finish Sheets which the results recorder had to take a best guess at, and thus these results are semi-official and perhaps subject to some amount of correction, and which at any rate will concretize over time.

Great course and wonderful to have the "shorter" option that I took although I got credit for the longer one. The view from the start/finish spectacular and should be mentioned as a huge addition to the course. It was also great to look across the valley and see people running on long, beautiful spurs as I was running down a long beautiful spur on my side of the valley.
