If you are looking for an informal but well organized event with challenging terrain and courses for all age groups, accurate maps, check out the Bubo Cup and OOCup organized by Ivan Nagy and his friendly crew of volunteers. Their motto seems to be: find a nice and technically challenging place, create great maps, and provide pleasure to hundreds of orienteers. They have great plans for the next two years in very interesting places. Both are 5day events and 3 days apart. Peter and I are spending two weeks each summer orienteering in this beautiful country. We highly recommend it! Beside the regular age group courses, they offer Ultimate courses for 21 and 35 age groups, where the trails have been removed from the map! On the karst and alpine terrain, this is very challenging.

How is the evidence from the ice storms last winter on the maps you are on?

No evidence on the Bubo Cup site.
