This man writes for Popular Science and stuff, but is absolutely ignorant. By the comments it appears no one really took notice of his article on Ski-O, but still...

Well, the comments section wih a single spam comment is a hint on what kind of website that is.
Hardly spam, I've made €200 in the last 2 hours!!
I thought it was funny, does that make me a bad person?
I thought it was funny, too, and the author did a better job than most of describing the essence of the sport.
And the clip of Aussie ski orienteer gave an unintentional international and a populist flavour to the sport all at the same time. There will be lots of people saying "hey, I can do that."
They say there is no such thing as bad publicity. But, the article (and video), portray ski-o as a non serious sport for non serious athletes.
OMG, he also disses the Empire State Building!
I thought it was funny, but the "the map is garbage" line was a bit of an overreach. Whatever, it's the internet.
And not being able to laugh at yourself is a bad way to make friends.
On the other hand, one of the youtube videos that pops up after you finish with the skiO clip is the "Making of Go Hard or Go Home -- the Hubmann Brothers", and then the GHGO video itself. Both are great footO videos.
I interpret "the map is garbage" as "there is no Google Route, GPS, or Siri telling you where to turn next".
hmm... article contains photo and video from 20 years ago....
website lists among its most popular articles:
"My Boyfriend Thinks Other Girls Are Hotter"
"Man-Hater Teaches Our Kids To Write"
"Today Is Great And Death Is Inevitable"
Something tells me this isn't going to do any damage. If anything, being made fun of by these guys might actually help the cause.
Will have to tell Bruce Graham sometime that he's now famous.
@andrea: How did you find this?
