I have been asked to chair the USOF Rogaine Committee. Currently the
other members are Eric Bone, Peg Davis and Vladimir Gusiatnikov.

We are seeking suggestions for a couple more members to round out the committee, and are particularly interested in nominations of individuals with any of the following:
* ties to the adventure racing community
* expertise in land access
* knowledge about insurance
* experience marketing sports events
* connections with the search and rescue community

Additionally, anyone is invited to join our "advisory board" - please let me know if you are interested or would like to recommend someone.

The Committee is supporting a recent bid from the Rochester and Buffalo orienteering clubs for the 2008 US Rogaine Champs.

We'd like to encourage submissions of bids for US Champs for 2009 and beyond. It is also possible to get USOF sanctioning for a non-US-champs rogaine (analogous to a sanctioned A meet); please contact us for details.

If any groups out there are considering putting on a rogaine, we'd
like to hear from you. We'd also like to hear from you if you have an idea for a good place for a rogaine, even if you yourself would not be putting it on.

Send us your rogaine ideas & opinions at usof-rogaine-committee@googlegroups.com. Or lay them on me here.

Barb,

over the past couple of years there has been various discussions of passing the reigns of the Rogaine committee - I'm glad to see that it finally appears to be happening....

Among the items on your agenda could you add locating someone else to maintain and host the rogaine schedule calendar? I've been hosting it on a server here at UConn for close to 10 years now but it should really find a new home and someone to keep it up to date...

I can put a redirect link here so that any old links that point to the UConn server will automatically jump to whatever new server is set up.

SLOC is looking to put on a Rogaine in the spring of 2008. Gary Thompson and Robert Wagnon. Location in either Missouri or Illinois near St. Louis. Gary would not be available to assist in the fall.

You got it, Clint. We're also interested in collecting north american rogaining history in one place, so if you happen to have older versions of your calendar still around, we'd love to get them.

Robert, it's good to hear about the SLOC rogaine.
