I am new to this site as well as adventure racing. I have currently only competed/completed 4 adventure races. 3 sprint, and 1 winter snowshoe one that took about 8 hrs or so.
I am active on numerous Triathlon websites, and am currently a mentor to apporximately 20 new triathletes. I, as well as the other triathletes find value in this.

I was hoping that we could somehow start something like this here? I would love to get into this sport, and it would be great it we could have some sort of mentor program?

Any thoughts? Ideas? Thanks. Looking forward to racing!

Hi Steve, have you considered signing up for the Team Lotto at BEAST? That's an awesome opportunity to race with DART-nuun team members. It's not the same as an ongoing mentorship, but it's still a valuable experience.

I feel like Attackpoint acts as one big mentor/mentee program! If you have specific questions or topics to discuss, you can introduce them here on the discussion forum and get a range of viewpoints from around the world. This is great, because often there aren't single correct answers to questions about things like adventure racing. Many of the people who answer you will be very experienced and knowledgeable, and some discussions may continue by e-mail outside of AP. At other times here, *you* will be the mentor answering questions for someone else because of your triathlon experience.

After doing 4 adventure races, you're not really a beginner anymore, so perhaps you have some specific areas where you know you want to learn more, and this a a great place to do it!

Ditto on what Bash said - this is an extremely helpful site for getting started. Even helped me with an injury that I hope I'm finally over and done with now.

And of course any local contact you find here are helpful - some O-clubs have people doing same thing you are interested in, so the clubs are always good resources too.

Welcome to the show and good luck!
