Looks like the worst of it will now be during the day on Thursday. So, I think if it were me I would be assuming a) delays to my train, and b) no guarantee at all about flights taking off later in the day. Newark is forecast to get more snow than us (2-4" vs 4-8"*) and more overnight too. I tihnk if it's crucial to take the trip, you should try to get on an earlier flight. You should be able to rebook for free.

*Feet's and my weather station forecasts often deviate, sometimes alarmingly, even though we use the same site. ymmv.

I think there is one earlier flight...I might see what I can do with the rebook. Then again, I would very much like to go tomorrow but it's not 100% necessary. Argh, I can't decide!

Also, my forecast says 8-12 inches with the worst just before my flight...which is definitely worse.

Ah, they've now made it clear that they expect 5-8" snow, then that to pack down with the rain, so that the total accumulation will be about 3-5". Yuck.

Gross. I'm just going to do what feet suggested and take my train as planned, then be a pain in the ass at the airport until they put me on a flight going west somewhere! Hopefully I'll get somewhere warmer at least!

Also flying out this week, to TX with R&Z. A bit anxious about whether Zack can drive home on Thurs night, will our flights leave and not run into trouble elsewhere Fri morning.

I'm glad it makes seasoned travellers such as yourselves anxious too, but not glad that you may also have problems!
