A new page has been added to the 12WRC2014 website - Advice. The Competitor Advice is a living document. As all participants are required to read and understand the event information included on the site, that page will become the must-read.

Advice currently covers Rules and Safety. Rogaining rules are pretty straightforward and a link is provided to the IRF Rules for World's. The Advice page identifies any local rules, as they develop. Soon to be shared will be course and tracking.

Here is the link, www.peakassurance.net/Advice.

Rattlesnakes, unavoidable poison ivy and abandoned mines - oh my. Need to rid myself of ivy phobia before then.

How wild are the local firearm bearers? At some of our venues, these are the most dangerous mammals, not the mountain lions.

I'm bringing bear bangers so I can shoot back, or will that just infuriate them?

Thanks for the link catch, http://peakassurance.net/Advice.html.

Had to look up bear bangers. Noise will scare most all wildlife off. Please, no flare models. Don't want to burn down the Hills...

Just kidding about the bangers of course. I wouldn't dare try to take them across the border, unless I forget to take them out of my bag before I leave ;-) We did use them once though, when a bear started following us while on a hike. They worked !!
