3 point teams.... Eric is 1 point. Tori Borish is back in Seattle for 6 months, and she's worth 2.
Story time. 2007 Barebones event in Canmore, we had 8+ Cascaders there, so we formed two 4-person teams. Each team was required to have a junior on it, and we had Holly and Tori then, which was a little unfair. Because they were so good, we put them on a more advanced relay leg, which bumped me (still fairly new) and Dave Tallent to the kids leg, which was the one that opened the race.
So if you can imagine... They say "Go!" and it's Dave and I leading a whole bunch of kids into the woods. Dave was heckling them a bit... "Follow me, little ones, I know where I'm going!" Priceless.
The Eric/Holly/Dave/Debbie team easily won that one.
Haha that's awesome, relays are basically just the best.
My favorite relay story: back forever ago, when I was in middle or high school (maybe 2003-2004?) we formed a team at the Rocky Mountain 1000 Days consisting of my two little sisters, my dad and I. Everyone ran really well; I ran the anchor leg and I still remember it as one of the best races I've ever had, and we ended up something like 10th overall out of 30 teams, with ~15, ~16 and ~18 year-olds. That was also the birth of the "Enger Management" team name. I've tried several times to find the results of that race, without success.
Anyway, Rick, Eric and I have talked about this year's relay a bit. Eric seems to be in and I would definitely like to go, so we only need one of Tori, Rick or Hannah Culberg to have a pretty killer three-point team.
Update: Eric tells me Tori is going. We may have our team!
