The 1st day results for the World Trail Orienteering Championships are now in!
The leader is Per Midthaugen from Norway with 17/18 correct and a total time of 35.0 seconds on the 2 timed controls.
US did respectably
7th - Dean Sturtevant :-) 15/18, 21.5 sec.
10th - David Irving 15/18, 81.0 sec, winning the Silver for paralympic competition
15th - Scott Drumm 15/18, 111.0 sec.
(out of 39 competitors)
Second and final day of competition is tomorrow (Fri.)
2nd day: Per Midthaugen got a perfect score today (17/17), winning the Gold.
The US faltered - all three competitors scored 12, landing them 15th (Dean) and below.
Eric Bone did the course after the competitors I think -- I'd be curious to know how he did.
