I'm used to shooting flowers, which don't move as much as humans do...please forgive the focus issues. I'm learning :)

Great photos! My favorite action shot was the competitor #209. Captures the essence of pushing one's self!

Some more photos mostly from Day 1, with a few from Day 2 around the school.

btw, not orienteering images, but as we pulled out of the high school, and started driving to our far destination, we accidentally stumbled on some amazing scenery, a graveyard of train locomotives and cabooses. Google "Geigertown Central Railroad Museum" to find all images and stories about it.

Sometimes traveling to these faraway orienteering meets give you the most unexpected of surprises.

And some photos from Day 2 - these are on Facebook, and I made the album public so I hope you will be able to see them. Let me know if there are problems and I'll put them on Flickr too. JanetT, you were so humble about your award I never got a photo!! Sorry!

re: Reading Eagle. My daughter and I were interviewed a few minutes before we started. The reporter liked my DontGetLost Adventure Running shirt. :-) She was a very enthusiastic reporter but the timing wasn't ideal so close to our starts. She was amazed that somebody would come "all the way from Canada". :-)

But for the record that wasn't my quote about the GPS. I love the GPS technology actually and ironically bought a new GPS watch on Saturday evening in Reading. :-)

Thanks DVOA for a fun weekend.

Petr, you got some good ones! You really must have been hiding in the woods for some of them, capturing orienteers in their natural habitat.
