Congrats on the podium! Love the route choice of staying along 16 mile creek instead of climbing. When you went down to get 19 did you stay down and cross 16 mile then cross over the bridge by the Aid Stn?

Interesting to read about the Hokas.

Another very strong performance. And you need the extra height of the Hokas too.

Nice thinking on crossing the river. We saw you guys heading off that way and figured we'd stick with the plan to climb, but lost 4min on that choice. How cold/dangerous was the water when you crossed? None of the giggles are very cold-resistant, despite being skiers...

Nice race!

DD, yes, that's right. stayed low out of 19 and crossed the river at the point where that trail dead-ends on the other side, then crossed the bridge at the Aid Stn. Same with coming out of 9, we re-traced our steps most of the way to 8, stayed low, and had another river crossing. Woods were open enough that the going was quick.

How deep was it crossing 16 Mile from CP8 area to CP10? True AR's right there!

acjospe, the water got waste-deep and a bit of current, never felt too dangerous, but would not want to be in the water more than the 30 seconds we spent - came out with completely numb legs.

Great job on your race, you guys were dialed in on the section we followed you through, 15-19.

Waist-deep on Wokitoki wearing Hokas would be up to my neck :)

We'd planned routes with those crossings to save climb but at the Half Raid briefing, we were told we couldn't cross the creek so we had to change several planned routes at the last minute. Boo. Any after-effects from the hogweed?

Yikes, I hope we didn't miss that rule for the full raid?? No ill effects from the hogweed, but i've heard it's dangerous stuff.

Glad nobody was affected. One of my teammates has had it before but we didn't see any this time.
