Discussion: Any info about 2014 Alpe Adria O Cup?

Trying to find details about the 2014 Alpe Adria O Cup. The website says the schedule will be decided in early 2013, but I don't see any info. Is the event going ahead?

The Italian says the same thing. Not much info, including not even telling when it is. The site was last updated in April 2013, not very confidence inspiring.

For the Alpe Adria events they usually update about 4mo out. It is not a huge event but it is quite fun.

I was wondering about using that race for WOC 2014 selection races. Since WOC has changed its format to eliminate the Long & Middle qualification races, and instead allocated each country a certain number of places in the M/L finals - I thought that some countries might replace the WOC qualifiers with an event immediately prior to WOC week. So Alpe Adria has great timing and pretty good venue - but no information available ;-(

Does anyone know if any countries are planning / thinking about doing this?

Further to AZ's post does anybody know if countries are hosting their selections in Italy in the weeks leading up to WOC?

If you know Alpe Adria has great timing, it seems you know more than they tell on the website. I was not able to tell when they intend to have it.

According to the Alpe Adria Orienteering Group website the 2014 Alpe Adria Orienteering Cup is taking place June 27-29.

There is another event, the Highlands Open on June 1st (and May 31st?) which is probably more suited as WOC qualifiers as it takes place a month + in advance of WOC rather than 2 weeks in advance.

I'm an organizer of Alpe Adria 2014. We're working on a new website, in a month time (by end of november) we'll publish first bulletin.

Programme:
-27 june afternoon: long race
-28 june morning: relay
-28 june evening: sprint
-29 june morning: middle (with a stage of italian cup)
We're waiting a response from IOF, all races should be WRE (except relay).
