The Trail O course will be open at noon, we are encouraging people to show up earlier than their start time. The setting sun may be disadvantageous to late afternoon starts.

Also, anyone interested in trying Trail O is welcome to come to the Trail O event center south of Hopewell Lake and register there. The cost will be $20.

A couple of questions about the Trail-O. One line of the course description on the event page says there is a 65 minute time limit. Another, which includes the number of controls and the distance mentions an 80 minute time limit. Which applies?

Also, the description says that e-punching will be used. I haven't seen this used before at any of the Trail-O events I have tried in the US, and I'm not sure I'm guessing correctly at the method being used. Will there be 5 or 6 e-punch boxes at each control site, one for each of the markers hung in the terrain, plus one for none of the above? Along with some extra software to check that nobody cleverly tries to punch more than one of the boxes at each control?

80 minutes

Yes - there will be one epunch box for each possible answer at each control. The boxes will be labeled 1A, 1B, .. , 1Z for control 1, 2A, 2B, .., 2Z for control 2 and so on.

We have some clever methods for checking that you punch controls in order and only one box at each control.
