That happened to me on the way to work the other day. the real clincher that nearly made me laugh, or scream, I wasn't sure which - well, if I'd swerved, I might have hit you! maybe not such a great idea to swerve if you don't know what's behind you and you're riding on a road?

The part I hate about this is that all it takes is one comment like that, which is fairly meaningless and one should be able to just brush it off, to stick with you and wreck your day =(

That was it! I had taken a good look around, there were no cars in sight, I gave him plenty of room...if you're that unaware of your surroundings, why are you on a road?

I understand that if you're cycling in a large group, then it's probably difficult to be aware of where everyone is, and that in that situation a quick shout is very helpful. But 2 people on an empty road? Give me a break!

I suggest an experiment.
a - pass senile cyclists without letting them know - count how many swerve
b - before passing senile cyclists shout very loudly to let them know - count how many swerve.
I think I know the result.
