Totally given up on any form of squashes having fought the borers and never won. Cukes don't do well either and may forget them. Rest ok, even the beets are slowly coming along.

Yes, get that fall crop in. I harvested the carrot and beet bed and put in a fall round last weekend. Sprouts are up now. Great to hear about the onions! Its quite late for them to have matured - well past the day length bulbing trigger. I'm surprised they were still standing this late. Do you have many peppers? I have just two puny ones. 10 plants and just two lousy peppers :(

I've been fighting a round of powdery mildew on the squash and cukes, but the neem seems to take care of it really well - much better than it handles early blight. My tomatoes are struggling, but finally producing some ripe fruit now. Tomato sandwiches!!! YARRRGHHH!! The cukes are coming in droves. I brought a dozen to work last week to give away, and 5 more to a neighbor today in addition to all the ones I'm eating. There are at least 2 dozen still on the vines. I put up 12 half pints of relish. Maybe 10 pints of pickled beetroot. I'll bring you guys a jar if I ever see you again :) I want to test a pint myself (after its been on the shelf a while) before giving any away. Some new pics posted starting at the bottom here. I've been working on a firewood rack extension the past few weekends. Finally finished today. No more excuses - have to get after the splitting now.

Peppers! and tomatoes are doing great. Will trade for some cukes. Vines have gone plus the ones I bought turned out to be pickling rather than eating. None coming in. Will stick with trying to dry some peppers and Lyn's freezing tomato soup.
