I know you are targeting the state parks, but if you get up to the Litchfield area again, I'd recommend you stop in at Topsmead State Forest. It really should be regarded as a park. Lots of fields and views, lawns and ponds, nature, and a stone English-style house.

South of Litchfield on Rt. 62 (main entrance has room for only about four cs) there is a part of the White Memorial estate WCOC calls Five Ponds (main entrance has room for only about four cars) . You may have Orienteered there. Nice mixture of horse, horse carriage and foot trails with interesting topography and ponds. Charlie and I were going to set courses there for this October but we could not find access with adequate parking. Residents at one of the public entrances on a cul de sac have virtually barricaded it with nasty signs. So we'll be back at Sessions.

We will get there eventually Bill! We're including State Forests, but we're doing them in alphabetical order, because I have a little but of OCD about lists of things!

That's bad news about Five Ponds, I have run there and really enjoyed it both times. It's a shame that visitors are being made unwelcome. Still, Sessions is great!
