The postmark deadline to avoid late fees in registering for this year's Billygoat is Saturday May 5. If you don't get it mailed off this week, be sure to drop it in the mail after the West Point A-meet next weekend. You can also e-mail your information and mail a check (postmarked by May 5), or bring registrations to the West Point meet (I'll be there).

Registration information and details about overnight accommodations

If you're coming from a distance (or even if you're not but plan to stay overnight Saturday), think about taking part in the sprints to be held Saturday afternoon. SportIdent might be used on both sprints, so if you plan on sprinting, send your e-card number along with your registration and payment, or let us know if you need to rent an e-stick.

As of today, only 4 of the 65 people listed on the AP racing page have sent their registrations. It's almost coming down to the wire! Take pity on the poor registrar.

Only 4? And three of those were in one envelope, right?
Apr 23, 2007 9:09 PM #
JanetT:
Well, 2, anyway (does S have an AP identity?). I have 17 entries at the moment, but most of the AP people have not yet signed up...

jjcote:
Yep. (Hint: at the bottom due to being unranked.)

Okay, counting him, and me, that makes 6. :-)

I'm on the AP list but won't be registering. I'll probably show up the day of the event to watch or something. :-)

Any registration options for poor college kids with no printers, stamps or envelopes? Would an email and cash-on-day-of suffice?
Apr 25, 2007 2:04 PM #
feet:
Well, you could always run to Albany to deliver cash personally.

E-mail registration is fine for everyone.

If you're coming to West Point (or can give money to someone else coming then) you can hand me cash or a check there.

I'll give poor college kids a break on postage/envelopes... but only poor college kids.

Just wondering who else is trying to work out childcare for the Billygoat ...

Any chance of a second 'mini mass start' for second parents, if we promise to be fast?

jjcote:
EMPO is in charge, but I can comment that based on precedent, the more likely scenario would be an earlier start time for the second parents (say, 8 AM), where they would function as last-minute vetters. By tradition, such people don't skip any controls, and go to both forks.

Kristin, check and see if non-running spouses of any competitors would be willing to take charge of the kids... Likely candidates might be listed on the AP race page linked above. This is how Peggy found me for the Highlander.

UPDATE

As of 30 April, we have 36 registrants for the Billygoat, ranging in age from 10 to 69. There are 27 males and 9 females at this point. Coming the farthest is Sharon Crawford from Colorado. Only 11 people have registered for the sprints, so earning valuable sprint series points might be a cinch...

However, I do expect a flood of entries this week, so things can change by next Monday.

Thank you to everyone registered so far, including those who gave me their entries at the West Point meet (some of whom need to send me more details, or at least your T-shirt size!).

Will there be white/yellow? If so I am hoping to bring some kids.

And - if there were any arrangements for watching kids I'd be quite interested. My gaggle are older, age 9-12, but I don't feel that comfortable leaving them completely alone for 4 hours. If there were white/yellow, they could do that, and then maybe help out with some of the younger kids, as long as there were some adult supervision.

whos going up from NYC area or passing by westchester on way up?

JanetT:
There are white/yellow courses on Sunday (not Saturday). No arrangement for watching kids (this isn't an A-meet); perhaps you can ask someone to bring their non-participating spouse/S.O. as I suggested to khall?
