Discussion: telecon

Looks like I'll be on a telecon Thurs morning - an instrument meeting at the Chalmers Conference Center. I thought of you when I found out Chalmers will be on the other end of the line. Maybe you can bust in and shout hello right in the middle of it :)

Yay!,!! I am in Aarhus, Denmark right now, but I appreciate the shout out! When will you come visit Onsala? The radio telescope?

Not sure when I'll get back to Sweden, but given the massive difficulties we had with the telecon we might have a strong argument for flying over next time - sequester be damned. After many different iterations, our high-tech video conference ultimately turned into a regular conference call, and that dropped at 6 PM when "there were no more phone lines available out of Sweden." Seems unlikely, but that's what we were told. I think they just wanted to go to Smorgas. To be fair, we did have live video for the first 2 minutes of the 3hrs. Their IT techs all went home for the day at 3:30 PM and that sort-of nixed the whole thing.

A sunny Friday in Sweden...technicians will use any excuse to get out to the summer house!
