Discussion: OOcup

Just noticed the OOcup (Slovenia 5-Days) website - www.oocup.com - has posted a notice today saying they are likely to close entries when they hit 1400 - so if you haven't entered and are planning to, you might want to do so soon.

Slovenian orienteering community is small and it is the same with the crew behind it, so this is the main reason that organizers think about limit, beside the whole pack of organizing problems which accure when you have this kind of O-festival. In Slovenia we haven't had yet a competition over 1.000 participants, so this is something new.

oh s...I've got to hurry up...I'm responsible for my whole club... thanks a lot!

Dear orienteers. I kindly invite you to Cerkno Cup 2008. It will take place on another legendary terrain in Slovenia, map of Novi svet (New World ;)), which is to be mentioned also in Gueorgiou's biography. Difficult flat karstic terrain. We expect approx. 500 competitors; the competition will probably also have at least one WRE event.

Besides - this competition supports the biggest slovenian club, that works actively with youngsters. Some people here only take advantage of the o-tourism ... (no hard feelings, Ivan, right? ;))
