Discussion: New version of Ór now available

Version 4.2 of Ór is available at http://www.orienteering.ie/or-home. Highlights are:
o Start Time allocation feature for pre-entry events.
o Supports new SI cards in extended mode
o GPS split sheet printing pops up printer selection box so you can use a thermal printer for normal splits and an inkjet for gps splits.
o New Entries List context menu item to set start time for group-starts.
o Some context menu items on the Entries list now support multi-select (eg. delete)
o Added feedback so you can check if the import from OCAD worked correctly
o Various bug fixes.

We love this program in BFLO. Guy: you can already work around that by creating a new class.

What I do for classes is set them up for one event and then you can copy the class.csv file for that event to replace the one for a new event in the Ór directory. It would be nice not to have to do this step each time even if it is 5sec to copy/paste. I prefer M/F easier to see at a glance then M/W and the -/+ on classes as some might like to use H/D. Be nice to be able to set a different default class set for each new competition.

I'm using the 4.2.1 version on Mac OSX 10.8.1
My problem is that I don't see the download station in the "Com Port". I see "None", "Simulator", and four bluetooth types of devices.
As far as I can tell I seem to be using Java 7 Update 21
Any one have any ideas what's wrong?

Is it weird that when I open OR using the desktop icon that the splash screen shows "4.1" but that the "Help/About" dialog shows version 4.2.1?

Hi Adrian,
I've seen the splash screen thing before. It's not serious & may correct itself over time.
If Ór can find the bluetooth com ports then it looks like it is working correctly. Check that your download station has been installed correctly and shows up in the the devices folder, along with the other COM ports.
