More like 24! The lab is even hotter, it's not pleasant. But it's lovely outside.

No one believes me when I tell them today is hotter than most days of the British summer.

It's dropping back to a meagre 14 on Thursday when Rob's parents bring the European chills with them.

"Texas had an extreme temperature range state-wide on Tuesday of at least 86°: from 108° in Laredo, to 22° in Dalhart."

Saving you mental arithmetic and converting to what you call degrees sensible, a range within a single state on a single day of 48 degrees, from +43 C to -5 C.

Actually, 14 degrees sensible felt lovely this morning. I can deal with that no problem.

At one point on Tuesday there were two places about 200km apart in the Texas Panhandle which differed by 34 C (+32 to -2). Obviously they do their cold fronts bigger in Texas, too.
