Congratulations for finding such hot-looking rides for your trip.

Rhonda's hot pink bike looks especially threatening. I assume you'll go with those Speedplay pedals you've told us about...and matching hot pink "bicicleta" cycling jerseys to match the frames.

No, just SPDs, which seem to turn the cranks just fine. I haven't tried to accessorize yet, although Rhonda already has a fair amount of pink gear.

I really love the no pedal look! It keeps them guessing: are they riding their bikes Flintstone style?

I saw a guy in Colorado many years ago, riding up a very serious mountain, I think in Estes Park. As he got closer, I realized he had only one leg, the other gone at the hip. The one leg was massive and he was moving fast. His bike had only one crank, which seemed like a pretty good deterrent against theft.

One of the funniest observations I've seen on a/p for a while! Plus I liked the idea of Reagan and Thatcher meeting Today. But remember, Who's on first.

Lately at work we've had to ship things to a guy in China by the name of Steve Hu. The jokes are nonstop.

A chinese colleague of mine (last name Hu) married an American (last name Steinman). They joked about giving their kids a merged last name: Human

I never met the lady, but Rhonda's mom often mentioned her neighbor, one Mrs. Human. Perhaps this could be the explanation?
