Discussion: Canadian Scientist Muzzling

It's embarrassing and has been going on for some time. Recently, a complaint was filed with the Federal Information Commissioner regarding taxpayer access to scientific information funded by taxpayers. There is some hope of progress.

At the same time, some important scientific work has been shut down - ostensibly to save money but many of us feel it's an attempt to create uncertainty regarding the effects of certain industrial projects where hard scientific data would almost certainly have demonstrated negative impacts.
