Haha that's a good point! I guess I'll be training without a compass for the next week or 2, so I'll see how it goes. Sometimes I use my compass as a crutch for poor map contact, so this will be a good opportunity to get over that.

I have a spare in my O' bag, but my gu took up all my pocket space! Next time I'll try a little harder to make room for it.

In reviewing the hundreds of unnecessary pictures I took at WOC, I was surprised at how many of the competitors clearly have the outline of a thumb compass in their pants.

Yeah, I stick my compass in my pocket and my gu in my bra. Apparently this is amusing for spectators when the video control is at a water stop and they show the whole thing on the big screen in the arena.

Those old baggy pajama O pants had big pockets. Today's sexy tight pants are not as practical.
