At Event Register.

There has been a problem with the loss of use of an already-mapped piece of new terrain; I am scrambling to offer something in its stead. It may or may not happen. The event website may or may not be updated between now and the first start; there are no changes to event-day notes, however Day 2 courses may have to be shortened by 25% or so if replacement terrain is not mapped in time.

The shortening will be much less than 25%, perhaps 5% to 10%, however there will be no use of new terrain for the Middle due to a neighbor conflict (not landowner conflict, we're cool with them; kinda like second-hand exposure? not only don't we want you, we also don't want to see you!). We apologize for this, and will bring the new map in 2014 (there is new terrain that doesn't have problem neighbors, just not enough time to map it!)

Middle course lengths will be updated on the event website today. A 600 m walk to start has been introduced, and this info will also make it on the website today.

Parking directions: For the Friday Night Sprint: go to the main (Golf Club Road) Diablo Valley College entrance, look for the few cars in one of the giant parking lots... that's us! nobody else on campus, it's Spring break.

For the Saturday Middle: the website directions will be updated shortly, go here and look for street parking.

But, we would be delighted if you checked in at Road Runner Sports, the event headquarters, before your run, and attended the prizegiving, also at RRS, after the Saturday event! Road Runner Sports has been a terrific supporter of navigation sports in the Bay Area and beyond. All participants of Run Black Diamond are offered a 20% discount for a whole year—if they are already RRS VIP members, or if they join before the award ceremony on Saturday.
