Hi,
I'm considering getting a Go Pro Hero 3 and was wondering if anyone or any clubs had used it during events or training and what the results were. How was the clarity and stability?

Several people on AP have Go Pros. I know that Run Bosco runs with one a lot and has made some great tutorial videos (recent one from November). She runs with a Hero 2.

I've got a Hero 3 Silver Edition with a chest mount. I've only worn it 3 times so far. The clarity of the raw video files is of fantastic quality. But you're going to have to do a lot of post-processing (image stabilization and compression) to get them into a result that's watchable and uploadable. I've been swamped over the past several weeks, so I haven't had a chance to do much with the raw files, other than speeding once race up 10x and watching myself fall down a lot in dark green.

I've run a lot with an older Hero 960. It's great, and the newer ones seem to be more awesome. I'd say go for it.

There are many fun things you can do with the videos once you have them.

How will you be using your videos? Your need for clarity and stability (not to mention audio quality and other parameters) depends on your purpose and goals.

Good question about how i want to use it. Between that and all the editing I'm holding off but will go with the Black edition if I proceed. I really liked what Run Bosco did with her Hero 2.. She even made a few errors so I felt right at home watching it.
