Last few winners have all been on the best maps we have. is it possible to win this award for making a silks purse out of a sows ear? One of the course setting achievements i have always admired was Ruth Goddards courses for the SL on Mt Robertson. If you ignore the decision to actually map the place, she made interesting courses out of very dubious material. Its hard to get much interest for this award, but i'd like to see it split so there is a separate award for long setting, where the emphasis is upon the attributes of a long course, and the technical aspects more asociated with middle courses are downplayed.
Actually, I think the last few winners have all been Peter Galvin and its all been Inglewood granite...
