If you have time, go through Gatlinburg and into the park. Lovely Place. You don't have to go far from the roads to get away from people. And you can drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway to D.C. rather than I-81 (if you have the extra time).

I used to have a client in Chattanooga, spent a lot of time there about 20 years ago. Nice place. Also have a friend there I used to stay with when I was in town. I did stay one time at the choo choo hotel, stayed in a converted railroad car. Very nice but kind of weird. I woke up trying to figure out where I was. "gee, this is a really long and narrow room."
