Tundra/Desert:
Here is a write-up sent to the Bay O-Net. The Providian would be a great event to do with a team of orienteers (HTC would be better, but there isn't a chance to put a team together with their scheduling). Judging by the replies I got, BAOC will have a team next year.

Would be cool to get USA O team there :) Unfortunately USA Champs are only in September :(
I bet we could make it around 7:00/mile.

There is another relay event here at Idaho - (Sawtooth relay. I ran it couple time. Unfortunately it may interfere with PNWOF2003 plans.

I wonder if there are other relay events that may be close to major O events where we can try to form a team.

If orienteerers want a cool running relay then check out www.danceswithdirt.com This race attracts 250 teams of 5 and is a great trail and woods (yes woods) running race. It takes place in Hell, Michigan. Yeah Hell as is in hot. Doug Mahoney and I have raced it the last 4 years with mainly members from GHO. We won this year. It is 100km and each person runs 3 times. There is a total of 15 legs and some are straight through the woods - the specificity of woods running scores big. Check out my AR team's web page for an article on the relay:
