Discussion: NAOC Ride - Thursday

Hello,

Is anyone heading over to PEEC from the NYC area on Thursday? I fly in on Wednesday but realise most people won't be heading over until Thursday earliest.

Also, anyone heading back towards or to NYC or vaccinity on Sunday?

I can bring Swedish thank you presents (and I am not talking about herring).

I'll be doing something similar (arrive Wed night, probably round-trip NY - PEEC - NY on Thursday, leave Sunday night) so I may bite for a car. Unless anyone else pipes up. :-)

I offer Norwegian thank you presents, which are superior to Swedish ones.

Rosalind is on the same Itinerary (Turs-Sun), arriving LGA, dep JFK. She's also looking for transport.

When does Ros arrive Eddie? Might she be on the same flight as my parents? If so they are getting the train to Port Jervis and I will pick them up from there. We could fit a little Irish girl in!

She's coming from New Orleans, but arrives LGA at 10 AM on Thurs and is leaving from JFK on Sun at 8:30 PM.

I'm on the hunt for ride back to NYC on Sunday too.

I´m driving back to NYC Sunday after the races.
Arriving at Newark Wednesday 12:55 if that fits in with anyone else.
Renting a car and planning a motel stop over on the way to PEEC.

I am arriving around 12:30 pm on Wed. but could hang around and we could split a car, if there are no other solutions. I am actually leaving again on Monday, but will need to be back in the city on Sunday, whenever. I'll trade you some Swedish pressies for Norwegian ones (yummy lefse for some Haga special fikabröd) :-) I am flying in and out of JFK...

If one of the pressies is Ekte Norske Honning, I'm sure we could work something out. :-)

The family is flying into LGA Thursday AM, 11:30, out again on Sunday at 19:15. Staying at the event site. Goal is to make it in time for model event. Have room for one additional passenger.

Any other pressie requests? :-)

I'm heading down for the weekend before but I can ask around for you if you'd like. My parents are driving down on Thursday and I'm sure would love some smoked meat and bagels ;)

I'm flying into EWR on Thursday evening. I currently have tickets from SFO, but I might end up arriving from LHR instead. My Sunday flight leaves from EWR at 5:15pm, and this is much less likely to change.

I'd be happy to offer people a ride but potential passengers would have to put up with the uncertainty of my itinerary.

we have göteborg kex, and brautigam chocolates...but we are not as special as Skåne....the other day I had a Fanta that had Skåke suger!

Has everyone flying to and from New York sorted out their transport to the event.
As Eddie said above I'm arriving at LGA at 10 AM on Thurs and leaving from JFK on Sun at 8:30 PM.
If I could join in with someone on either journey, that'd be a great help!

We´re arriving on Wednesday so that won´t fit in with your arrival but Sunday 8:30 PM sounds doable. I´m sure we can sort something out since we´re going to NYC after the races. No other passengers yet.

Ros, my parents are arriving later than you on Aer Lingus on Thursday and I'm picking them up from Port Jervis MTA station on my way over. If you can't find anything else, we'd be happy to have you.

I've lost track of whether anyone is still looking for a ride from NY to PEEC. We arrive at JFK at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, pick up a rental car and head toward PEEC, likely stopping at Harriman St Park en route to do a little training. We plan to get to PEEC around 2-ish. If 1 or 2 would like a ride from JFK, we'd be happy to share. Can't help with the return to NY..

Yeah, that'd be great if I could get a lift with ye, Becks, out to PEEC. Will get in touch about logistics!

Mushy_pea: bring some Jaffa cakes and travel samples of Crested Ten and you might make your rides very happy. :) (the latter is for after the ride, of course.)

I'm also looking for a ride from JFK Thursday evening. My flight arrives at 7:00 PM. During the event I'm sharing lodging/rental car with another BAOC member who arrives few days earlier. I'm also looking for a ride back to JFK Sunday evening. My return flight is at 5:55 PM.

We have Jaffa cakes available up here in Ottawa (yay import stores), but Crested Ten is not exported at all, and is among the smoothest of its kind...

Maybe I should bring down a bunch of Vachon cakes, myself. For those who think Hostess is good. :D

Since this seems to be the ride board, Ross and I are looking for a ride to EWR fairly shortly after the relay on Sunday as our flight leaves at 6.20pm. Thanks!

I'm looking for a ride from LGA (or JFK, can take a shuttle over there) on Thursday early afternoon. I'm landing 12:30. I have transport at the site once I get there.

If anyone is driving from Western PA or Cleveland or really anywhere on I-80 between Toledo and Delaware Water Gap that would like a carpool buddy? Let me know if so!

I'd like rides from EWR to PEEC on Thursday morning, and back on Sunday afternoon. My flights arrive Thursday at 5:48am from Seattle, and depart Sunday at 5:29pm, so I guess I'll be in even more of a hurry after the relay than Sam and Ross. :-)

Of course I'm happy to contribute toward gas and car expenses. I'm staying at PEEC.

Ebone - We arrive at JFK thursday 7:30 a.m. (also from SEA). Pick up a rental car, and expect to dep JFK area about 8:30. Picking up someone in the bronx, then headed to Harriman for a training trot, then on to PEEC in earlyish afternoon. If you can/want to figure out how to get to JFK (prob to our rental car place?), and want to do the Harriman detour, we'd be happy to share our free seat. call 907-903-4779 (Alaska time).

Ali, a couple of folks from Akron/Cleveland are driving. Andy Strat and myself are driving from Pittsburgh in separate vehicles.

Updated itinerary:
- Arrive EWR at 17:40 Thursday (AA 3738 from ORD)
- Leave EWR at 18:25 Sunday
