with these animals is totally beyond me.
But they're so cute and lovable!
Because it's not their fault I guess. She doesn't exactly help herself, I agree. But I've seen what early life stress and maternal separation does to mouse brains and I guess the same thing happened to them.
Very glad you are not more hurt! The picture is actually a bit of a relief, because it could have been much worse.
I have been lucky that my cats are very friendly and generally pretty calm. Moe lets the dog have it if she gets too playful, but Leggie doesn't even fight back against the dog. I have never been scratched by either one of them, despite some provocative behavior on my part.
My sister has been getting refuge cats for many years, a pair at a time. One a few years ago went crazy once when she tried to pick it up. Got scratched up and down arms badly. Cat was back at the shelter the next day.
Hope it heals soon! Agree with Charlie--picture was a relief. Bet it was a scary experience!
Did you put an antibiotic ointment on the scratch?
Certainly be careful. Watch out for cat-scratch fever. And hope the little scratch is all the damage.
Health Plan suggested neomycin, so I gave everything a good rinse and then Rob applied it where he could see scratches. They're all looking much better now, apart from the eye which was the worst one. I expect it will be much improved after some good sleep, which I am embarking on right now. Not quite the Sunday I had planned!
Well, I'm very glad she didn't get your eye proper and I hope a good night's sleep leads to accelerated healing. And also that Rosie participates in some extreme apologatory (is that a word?) cuddle time. It's been known to happen.

From what I have heard of Rosie, I imagined your daily existence would include stuff more
