Registration is now open for the 2012 Ellicottville Adventure Run and Hike, a 6-hour or 3-hour Rogaine style romp through the McCarty Hill and Rock City State Forests in Western New York. sounds like fun, unfortunately Nipmuck Trail Marathon is the following day. And being RD for that one, my weekend is kind of shot :-)

btw, how many checkpoints (aka controls) are there going to be? the event description warns against some SI cards able only to register 30 controls, almost as a foretelling that there will be more than 30 controls in this 6-hr event.

The course isn't finalized yet but one possibility being considered is a map exchange with an intermediate download. Maybe 25 controls on map 1 and 15 on map 2.
