Only a couple of days left to enter. Most of the sites are tagged, the boulders are getting bigger all the time, and I've pigged out on wineberries.

The woods are wonderful, needless to say.

Joe:
how many teams signed up?
Jul 13, 2012 8:41 PM #
biggins:
Anybody need a partner? I'll be in the neighborhood that day.
Jul 13, 2012 9:59 PM #
ndobbs:
Not many, as far as I know (the Sanctuary is handling entries), which is why I posted the message. Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can sleep through the deadline. I anticipate at least fifteen teams, hopefully a bunch more...

Feel free to do some last minute advertising.

ndobbs:
Also, teams that enter now will have their names on their bibs...
Jul 14, 2012 2:33 AM #
Pink Socks:
More events should have names on bibs. First time it happened to me was NAOC 2010. I made sure to have them at "O, ftw!", since it was only another 5 cents per bib to have that.
Jul 14, 2012 11:39 AM #
Joe:
Pavlina and I will be there.
Jul 15, 2012 5:32 PM #
Charlie:
@biggins (or someone else). I might go if a partner turns up.
Jul 16, 2012 2:58 PM #
ndobbs:
Team names should be in by tomorrow afternoon to make it onto the bibs.
Jul 16, 2012 4:19 PM #
biggins:
Charlie - sounds good, lets do it.

Hi--any more info about the race? Do we need any special tools? Start @ 9AM?

Who is racing?
Jul 18, 2012 2:01 PM #
ndobbs:
No (but working on it). I'd bring fluids (only three water stations planned). Yes (well, 9.15, but walk to start at 9).

Barbarians:
Irish Rovers
Team BG Elite
CSU, Inc.
Merciless Growlers
No Adult Supervision
Team Banditos
Sailor and Landlubber

Viking Course (5+km)
Disoriented Anonymous
Greg & Charlie
Team Roadrunners
Team Person

Pity the Breton girls are away, I don't know who to put my money on.
Jul 18, 2012 2:30 PM #
j-man:
Can you divulge who's on what team, please?

I need to talk to my bookie ASAP.
Jul 18, 2012 2:44 PM #
dlevine:
No Adult Supervision = Mike Ball and David Levine

(bookie should be giving very long odds)
Jul 18, 2012 2:45 PM #
ndobbs:
I don't have that information, actually.

It seems like it will be quite the international race though... almost as many countries represented as teams.
Jul 18, 2012 3:57 PM #
Joe:
Csu=Clem& Brendan?
Jul 18, 2012 10:07 PM #
bshields:
That's CSU, Inc., mister.
Jul 19, 2012 1:22 AM #

Greg & Charlie is Greg and Charlie. (Or biggins and Charlie, if you prefer.)
Jul 19, 2012 10:42 PM #
ndobbs:
Currently 10 Barbarian teams, 7 Viking.

Jul 21, 2012 4:42 AM #
GuyO:
I hope the results include team members' names...
Jul 21, 2012 1:52 PM #
Hammer:
@guyO - Just like baseball and football right?
Jul 22, 2012 3:00 AM #
GuyO:
Just like orienteering... ;-)

Baseball players are listed in the box score, but only the ones who got in the game.
Jul 22, 2012 3:34 AM #
ndobbs:
The participants will all know each other intimately by the end of the race.

Yes--awesome! Sanctuary people are great, and so are you. The woods get an honorable mention--spectacular! Some of those hillsides with the low skein of grass were almost too much. It is like a fantasy forest.

Those bibs look like they turned out nicely.

Excellent courses - truly in the spirit of the DontGetLost runs! Great woods, great weather, and great food. Can't ask for more than that! Thanks to all who put this on.

Hmmm, AP doesn't seem to like extra spaces so results look ugly!

Is that better? :)

Oh yeah, much preferred in my book. Sorry about the spaces, you probably need the nonbreaking space for AP not to optimize it away.
