Discussion: Follow US Orienteers at International Orienteering Championships This July
in: Orienteering; General;
This summer several DVOA members are representing US Orienteering in International Champtionships:
Zac Barker and Nate Ohrwaschel are running in the Junior World Orienteering Championships taking place July 7th to July 13th in Slovakia.
Alison Campbell will be racing in the World University Orienteering Championships from July 2nd to July 7th in Spain.
Greg Balter, Sandy Fillebrown, Vadim Masalkov, and Angelica Riley will be taking part in the World Masters Orienteering Championships in Germany from July 1st through July 7th.
Eddie Bergeron (Primary club SVO) will be representing Team USA at the World Orienteering Championships from July 14th to July 22nd in Switzerland.
Race well, and safe travels! Go DVOA! Go Team USA!
Sure. He is a member of WCOC and DVOA. Not HVO.
I'm a member of HVO, DVOA and OCIN...

4-club member this year. Still EMPO primary. :-)
EMPO, HVO, WCOC & ___?
If they are competing for Team USA, then I cheer for Team USA. I couldn't care less what club(s) they are from.
WUOC team has just finished up our second day out on a map today. yesterday was a local event relevant for the middle. and today was the model event next to the relay/middle terrain. Very rocky underfoot but people are confident. Opening ceremony tonight and then long tomorrow!
Alison, I've heard some talk of running in road shoes rather than spikes because of the hard ground. What's your impression?
I wouldn't run in road shoes, but deff trail shoes! I'm going to bring both my spikes and trail shoes tomorrow. but think I'll end up in trail shoes. you want the extra grip on the climbs as they kinda come out from under you.
I thought it was illegal to follow orienteers at international competitions.
following US orienteers is its own punishment.
Here are the links to my blog posts. Look out for one on the USA blog later today from everyone but they are napping at the moment so it can't be finishedThe AC race: WUOC2012 - Opening Ceremony
The AC race - WUOC Long
