I imagine showing up with performance in mind, putting on spikes, being surged with adrenaline just before and as the gun goes off & “charging forth” - and what time would it take to cover 200m, assuming no hamstring pullup (and I think that is an impossible assumption) 35secs? Say 8 yrs ago, I'm sure that or better was attainable. Now just a figment of the imagination.

ps looked up "figment" - adding "of the imagination" seems redundant like "pouring down rain".

Much truth in what you say. BTW I am very cautious off the start line, building into it then applying a middle distance finish kick. Maybe 0.5 sec to be had.
Figment is interesting- the French expression I believe is "le fruit de l'imagination"; seems more plausible to grasp and taste:-)
