It would be if it was dry. But it's really muggy and humid, we're awaiting a big storm tonight hopefully to clear it all up.

Then it appears the only difference between here and there is the 40°F or so in temp, as both are moist. Just our's will clear quite soon. Ah! Even now the t'boomers have passed, the temp is down, less humid and the sun just poked out. But think more T'storm is on the way.

They missed us! Just looked at the radar and there's a big hole in the green and red clouds around us. Grrr....

I was peacefully sitting on our front porch listening to T off in the NW distance when all of a sudden, Crack! Like just across the street. Very quick retreat inside. Then some rain, now a lull.

Yes, it's cold and dreich, here. Can't believe I miss it so much, too.

Really nice run around Elgin today. O at Roseisle tomorrow. Embargo for the 6-Day doesn't begin until August thank goodness.

Sluie on Sunday. Yes!

We had a pretty exciting storm here for a while, but none the worse for it. Our friend Cindy, on the other hand had a lightning strike that hit a propane tank and ended up setting her house on fire. Seems like things will be ok, but very smoky and maybe some melted insulation. Haven't been over to see it.

How was Sluie Charlie? It sounds like the climb at the finish was pretty brutal! Still very jealous though.

Awesome! Although the map was showing its age - lots of unmapped 4x4 tracks which make good route choices through the bracken which was quite high. Really lovely woods, though. And not hot!

Climb at the finish really was brutal and I declined to make much of an effort. Then I was kicking myself when I got to the download because it looked like someone had finished about 5 sec ahead of the time on my watch. But then it turned out that I hadn't hit the buttons quite right, so I was ahead by 7 sec. Phew!

It was my first taste of Scottish orienteering for 9 years, and I enjoyed it (although it was hard work at times). I don't mind uphill finish chutes because it slows everyone else to my speed.

Sluie is fantastic, as long as they manage to avoid the worst of the bracken. Glad you all enjoyed it!
