Discussion: Am I just being stupid?

Or is there an easy way to scroll through Kenny's/Biggins' photos?
Also, you guys were pretty amazing actually! Exceeded my expectations by at least a hundred places!
There is no shame in admitting it. you guys (CSU) did an amazing job!!!
I am proud to know you CSU men. I even have a picture of Boris, Ross, and Ken, Jr. (with Zan) on top of our TV in living room (in Maine when you all won the relay).
Becks, no confidence. We were 204th in 2006 (with PG instead of Biggins).
But this year was the biggest EVER! Plus I didn't care in 2006.
I dunno about the scrolling, Becks, but I picked
my favorite for you. I have no explanations.
My predictions versus reality for CSU vs. DVOA
1. Prediction: CSU by 10:00
Reality: CSU by 10:18
2. Prediction (for the leg): CSU by 5:00
Reality: CSU by 8:05
3. Prediction: even
Reality: CSU by 0:16
4. Prediction: CSU by 3:00
Reality: CSU by 6:29
5. Prediction: DVOA by 6:00
Reality: CSU by 3:54
6. Prediction: DVOA by 2:00
Reality: CSU by 4:18
7. Prediction: CSU by 8:00
Reality: CSU by 6:16
Nailed it on 1,2,3, 4, and 7. Way off on 5 and 6.
Say more about your desire for scrolling. is it that the thumbnails are crappy (they are) and don't help you decide whether you want to see the larger image? or is it that you want to see all the larger images, clicking (especially back and forth) is annoying, and you would rather just have a slideshow? or something else?
I did add a
slideshow view at Boris' request. it is slightly ghetto but should mostly work.
I think it's the clicking back and forth that's annoying. Just clicking through images big enough for me to see would make me happy. I'm not a photo quality buff.
I like the look of the CSU podium wear. that old axis gear design was lame but I'm still not sold on those light blue pants. How has the podium wear held up? breathe OK? cost?
congrats again guys. would be fun to do this race some day.
Lots of sweet pics! And what a great place to watch the starts. I didn't even think there might be a viewing spot up that road. I couldn't see a thing in the arena. Would've just brought a chair and sat there taking pics for the whole event. I think
this one is my favorite. Unique composition. I didn't get to watch much of the Jukola - just the start. Seems like I was either trying to sleep, sleeping, trying to wake up (which took a surprisingly long time) or running.
Alex put together the podium wear deal. Ask her for the details. They seem to be holding up well.
Mmm. I think the material isn't that good for orienteering actually, it pulls... I try to save mine for races without thorns...
too bad, NevMonster has very good things to say about podium wear (small orders being one of them).
I find they breathe ok, but they're a bit thick for summer - bike jersey material. They really pull in thorns, though non-pointy sticks seem to be fine. They also stink pretty terribly after just one wear. Maybe I'm supposed to wash my clothes more often than I do...
It's great that Podiumwear takes small orders, but they could have mentioned the $35 shipping and handling fee up front...
Looking at the splits it seems that a fair number of runners had their biggest mistake on the first control. Probably a combination of people being too excited, forking, and not (yet) having enough respect for the difficulty of the navigation.
I'm very happy about our result - a consistent team effort!
You guys had a great result.
I generally found the navigation what I expected but the first control on our leg seemed more difficult than the rest of the course--compounded by all the other complications of a first control at Jukola. Last time I found the first control difficult also, and I think it really was.
I didn´t run so I can´t really comment on the difficulty of the controls or the terrain. But I think one additional reason for so many missing the first control may well be the very long marked route to the starting point.
People run (too) fast to get there and thus get more tired than is usual for attacking the first control - also it is harder to slow down and take it carefully enough for a tricky start after this high-speed run.
Great races--congrats! It was great to see you guys there! I am also very impressed by the Linne women (way to go Sam!) Thanks for great photos!
Boris, your prediction was quite good, have to compliment on that, and .... who is going to win Euro soccer cup? :)
Not teams with yellow and blue.
