Thanks! Michael and I took 2nd in the relay. Michael was 2nd and 3rd on his two courses, and I was 2nd and 5th. About 8 minutes back unfortunately due to us each having one slower leg, but something I definitely can improve upon.

Great results FunRun congrats! Was it your first time at this event? Will likely put it on my list for next year.

It's an annual event although it has moved on the calendar in some years. In 2014, Ottawa will host the North American Orienteering Championships, which will be lots of fun. That is usually held on Thanksgiving weekend so I think the Ottawa club will move their event to the fall that year.

Thanks WandAR, Thanks Double_Down! Yes, it was my first time there. When I saw the photo's from last fall I put it in my calendar to go this year :-)

As Bash said, it's annual (although last year it was in the Fall as I believe they also hosted the Ontario's). There are middle, sprint, and long distance events. And for those who stick around the extra day, a 2-person relay (2x2 or 2x4, short or long). An exceptionally well run orienteering event, with great courses on challenging terrain and in interesting urban areas. Individual starts with different courses for each category (less likely to be following others as can happen in mass starts and using a single map, good test of your orienteering skills). Highly recommended.
