Image needs to be uploaded on a web page, I think, and you need " " around the link URL.

An actual image address might look like:

< img src=http://mochatoo.smugmug.com/Nature/Potpourri-1/i-ZqD2dsL/0/S/img_6629-L.jpg>

all after the // refers to a specific address on the web where one places photos. So you need such a place for image storage. I use smugmug (fee/not free), another is Flickr. There are numerous - maybe you already have such a place. And don't leave any undesired spaces, eg, < img src= above, already has an error (space between "<" and "img") - if I correct the error by removing the space, there will be the image and not the information for the web location (and you would not get to see what's behind 'the scenes').

ampersand lt semicolon (&lt;) and ampersand gt semicolon (&gt;) is how you get the angly brackets to show in the message board.

If you upload to Flickr it gives you a ready made link (under "share this photo") so that you don't have to do any html stuff.

Same for Picasa which I use there is an option to get the link but you have to unselect the link to album option as that messes up on Attackpoint nowadays.
