Melissa got me one when we were in Tucson because she thought I was sort of crazy, running and riding around all the time, and I wore it for most runs. It does offer a bit of peace of mind.

I was so lucky that I remembered the code to unlock my phone and that Rob was the person to call when I got hit! Although I could remember my social security number too, just nothing that happened in the previous 6 hours :s. If I'd have been out cold I'd have been stuck, and hospital with memory loss was scary as.

When I run, I don't even take any ID - they'd be stuck, and there's be no way for them to figure out insurance details or anything. It's a bit of a gimmick, but I'm scared enough now to use it!

Yeah, I suppose a laminated card with name, important contact number and insurance info would be just as effective, but the roadID doubles as a reflective strap! Totally worth 20 bucks. ;-)

Ha ha! I think they're popular enough here that medics look for them, so I guess that's worth the 20 bucks. Plus I'll clearly just wear it all the time to avoid forgetting it putting on, which I can't really do with a card in my lycra without getting very smelly very soon!

Becks if you're running around New Haven at might it might be worth taking a $10 or $20 note with you (I do this because I usually run with my phone, so potential muggers can get $20 instead of a phone that's worth rather more than that). I think this is nicknamed the "Central Park solution".

I'm trying not to run at night right now as I'm still a bit scared of not seeing cars, but will keep it in mind when I do! Nice sunny mornings are a much better idea :)

Got those for us many years ago. Don't normally take it when we go out together, but try to always have it when alone. Mine is on a chain like a dog tag - with an O sign on the other side;-)

If anyone wants a dollar off one, they can use this code over the next month. IT's good for 20 people:
