Those look good though you can do well on the CT state site as well. Bikerag will have up to date trail maps if interested. The sticking thing is the number of these areas, and remember that they can all be mapped for O! And many have great vistas!;-)

We're planning a run at Penwood tomorrow, legs being well.

Perhaps a bike or two, but might be smallish. Welcome to try.

We're thinking an A to Z of State Parks. The Official site seems to be map only, which is useful for execution but not that much for the "what's next" question. Our problem is that when we look at the list, everything look kind of meh, but when we get to each place, we always have fun. So having some Aspergers-ey kind of list to achieve takes away the issue of decision and will hopefully lead to more unexpected fun!

I'm taking Anna to Blue Mountain before she catches her flight tomorrow. But I think the next on the list with be the Air Line State Park, and that seems best done on bikes.

Keep looking at the Official site as there is all sorts of good info besides maps about all the Parks including access, history, pictures, camping. Airline goes through Salmon River SP with nice trails up to Day Pond, and Comstock Bridge is fun.

Most of the parks have lots of history. Any with streams or rivers would have mills all along the banks and ruins are what's left. The woods were all fields not long ago. Areas here have been misused for 350-400 years. Lots of changes hidden away. Your park tour sounds fun.

I agree! The list-addict in me loves the State Park idea. Looking forward to reports from each visit! For extra geekiness, you have to have some constant - a type of picture you take or a weird thing you do in every one of the parks.

Boris - there will be blog! I'm a huge fan of lists, I'm really enjoying the 1001 Books. It's also why I do best with a pretty prescriptive training plan :)

But now - time to go orienteering with a Kiwi for the final time!
