That's right--we decided today that we are definitely GO for the Tahoe portion of the World Cup/NA Champs/US Champs. We might change a couple events around a bit but those events are ON. We still have to decide about Bear Valley but that decision has to be made this Friday (absolute latest decision time is Saturday). If we cancel the Bear Valley portion, we will shift a couple events at Tahoe to move in at least the WCup Long course and perhaps one of the NA Champs events.

There are just three days left to register. Pre registration saves you money. Day-of-event entries will cost $5 extra per day. Also, if you cancel your participation at any pre registered event (by notifying us ahead of time), we refund your money for that day. You can't lose by pre registering and you help us figure out how many maps to print. You can register by using the form at http://baoc.org/wiki/images/5/53/2012_Sierra_SkiO_.... So far, we have 38 people who have registered for the NA/US Champs (and 50-54 people who have signed up for the World Cup).

To make things easier, you can register by E-mail--just list the number shown next to each field on the registration form along with your information for that field. If you are from the U.S. or have a U.S. banking account, you can send a check in US dollars to BAOC (send to Sierra Ski-O Tour, 988 Farley Street, Mountain View, CA 94043). If you are from outside the U.S., you can pay in U.S. dollars when you arrive at the event.

The new registration form corrects an earlier error. I previously had people on open courses paying a reduced fee. Instead, they pay the full competitive fee--the reduced fee is for the recreational white and recreational orange courses, which are designed for beginners, younger children, and anyone else who wants to orienteer non competitively.

If you are competing for medals, be sure to indicate your orienteering federation. For medals in the North American Championships, you must be a member of a North American orienteering federation (for example, OUSA or COF). For the US Championships, you must be a member of OUSA and your national championship competitions must be in only the US for 2012.

See you in the snow!!!
