Great race yesterday. It was my first time participating and I really enjoyed it. Nice to see so many teams out there. Looking forward to the next Raid in early April!

The Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Giant's Rib Raid will be in Niagara this year. This is the first time we have hosted an adventure run in this area and I don't recall hearing about any major adventure races hosted there yet so it will be some exciting new terrain and running and nav challenges. Registration will be open shortly.

Snowshoe Raid 2012 GPS replay

A number of leading teams have loaned their GPS tracks to

Red - Team Foreigners (Overall & Male winners)
Yellow - Tree Huggers (Female winners)
Blue - Two and a half MENiscuses (Masters winners and 5th overall)
Green - Sweet as Canyonero (4th overall)

Of interest, a number of the teams almost took the highway into the Valley of Doom north of CP60, but worked out what was going on, Foreigners decision to remove their snowshoes after CP76 paying dividends and a number of teams just missing each other at a number of CPs.

Any other teams who'd like their track to the replay, just send me an email with a gpx file or similar : whereispatricknow (add the gmail dot com part after)

Cool! I had no idea that the Foreigners were right behind us for that bit in the eastern section of Loree Woods. On the GPS track you can see where 'Bent and I go from Two and a Half MENiscuses to One and two-thirds. ;-)

Snowshoe Raid 2012 GPS replay

The player has now been updated to include the track from second place team 'Not Lost' (orange). Watch the newbies out-navigate to so called expert from 'Two and a half MENiscuses', then lose it all in the Valley of Doom.

Despite what they say in that article, Team Not Lost did actually pass us at the last checkpoint before the aid station, even if they didn't know it was us (and that we were in the lead at that point). We knew it was them...

Thanks for the replay!! As a photographer trying to intercept teams in the right place at the right time, I gotta say I had no idea what Nick & Wil were up to when/where I saw them - until now! :)

The replay looks awesome. Can someone post some information about how to produce something like that, assuming the existence of several GPX files taken from competitors GPS ? I see it as a great soundboard for commentaries in post-race discussions.
