We are making plans to send a team to the wUoc in Spain, July 2-6, 2012 and are trying to determine who is interested and able to attend. We will need to do some fundraising and plans for this need to be initiated. If you are planning to attend the Intercollegiates to try out for the team or are unable to attend but plan to petition please let me know as soon as possible. wornerkohn@aol.com If your plans are up in the air at this time let me know that as well. I put this question out there once before but only heard from one person...I'm assuming (hoping) that there are more of you out there that would like to go.
To be eligible you must have been born between 1/1/84 and 12/31/94 and be enrolled in a college or university...entering freshmen who meet the age requirement are eligible (must supply a letter of acceptance).

The WUOC and JWOC (and WOC), events are really back to back this year. For any competitors that might be considering both WUOC and JWOC, the JWOC sprint is July 8th, opening ceremonies July 7th. So, if you are a college student (or otherwise meet the WUOC criteria and thinking of JWOC, you might want to consider WUOC since you will be in Europe anyway and you could do it instead of the JWOC training camp---maybe there is a way to share some funding on this.

Was just looking at the requirements for WUOC and it says if you graduated in 2011, you are eligible--I guess that's becasue there was no WUOC last year

I was considering it since I will be living in Spain for the next few years. However with my work schedule this summer I doubt I will be able to. Why couldn't it be a year later?!?

You can go to WUOC if you will be in College this coming fall, but have to be registered with the college by the event registration. You can also race if you graduated in 2011 because yes there was no WUOC last year. Or that is what the rules were the last time around.

I will be petitioning for a spot on the team.

@Greg

If you are eligible, already in Spain, during WUOC... It would be irresponsible not to go!

Maybe you need a new job...

I would love attend to but, unfortunately, my schedule will not allow it.
