That looks cool. Including the puking is a nice touch. If you don't include puking, then you're just sugar-coating what it is like to run an ultra.

Inspiring. Makes one want to get out & do something.... The puking...seemed a lot of volume, too distended a stomach, too much 'food'/fluid?

The puker is on AP. Maybe he will cough up some further info.

Maybe the puker can get a shoe ad like Bob Kampainen did in 1992.

Hello? Did someone say shoe ad? Did I mention that I'm working on my puke on demand skills? I'm very good with my comedic timing...

As for volume -- there was definitely plenty of that. Word on the street was that they had to edit out half of it to keep the film under "Lord of the Rings" length.

Not sure what the issue was on the day, but I was drinking plenty and trying to eat as much as I dared (was feeling pretty nauseous the whole race). Lots going in, nothing really coming out. So when this happened, it was the culmination of about 6-8 hours of consumption. There were about 5 or 6 six high-volume heaves if my memory serves me.

As you would expect, I felt much better after the fact. But upon continuing with the race, I started puking again about 30 minutes later and then dry-heaved my way up the next hill. Not pretty.

I was using a new brand of salt tab that day, and a high-carb, high-electrolyte powder that I had only been training with for about 6 weeks prior. So maybe that had something to do with it?

If there is any interest, I can direct you to my agent. I'm available for holiday parties, children's birthdays, and Bar Mitzvahs.

Tundra/Desert:
Too much electrolyte (excess pNa in the stomach) would certainly do it.
