Golden Horseshoe Orienteering (GHO) is offering a two-year, full-time position job opening for an Adventure Running Program Manager.

Specifically GHO is looking for an individual to co-ordinate these programs:
Adventure Running KidsTM (a kids adventure running program and race series)
Adventure Running 365 (a recreational family adventure running program)
Over the last 18 months, GHO have developed and introduced these two new adventure running programs. Adventure Running KidsTM, in particular, has been extremely successful, with rapid growth in the Hamilton, Ontario region. The goal for the next year is to expand these programs within Southern Ontario, and to strengthen community partnerships while maintaining a commitment to athletic development and hosting quality races such as the Golden Leaf Orienteering Festival and the Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Adventure Running Series.
Applicants must be highly self motivated, goal oriented and able to communicate well to large groups representing a large range of ages. Essential skills include 2+ years experience with orienteering software (Condes, OCAD, OE2003 etc). Co-ordinating the program requires some level of fitness and coaching experience. Prior experience managing similar kids recreation programs, particularly within navigation-based sports, will be looked upon favourably.
This is a two-year, full time position, with the potential/option to expand up to two years in length (hours are flexible). Payment is by hourly wage ($15 to $25/hour depending on experience) but with incentives based on program growth.
The Adventure Running Program Manager will be responsible to manage and coordinate these two programs as well as assist with other GHO events and programs (including the Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Adventure Running Series, Adventure Running Schools program, 2013 Canadian Orienteering Championships, Dontgetlost Navigation Clinics etc).
